England reach Women's World Cup final with victory over Australia
Toone and Russo on target as Lionesses roar into decider
England have reached the Women's World Cup final for the first time in their history after defeating Australia 3-1 in Sydney.
Ella Toone gave the Lionesses the lead in the 11th minute, with Alessia Russo doubling their advantage just before half-time. Australia pulled a goal back through Sam Kerr in the second half, but Rachel Daly sealed the victory for England in the 85th minute.
The Lionesses will now face Spain in the final on Sunday, August 20. The match will be shown live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
England's victory was a hard-fought one, with the Socceroos putting up a spirited fight. However, the Lionesses were ultimately too strong for their opponents and deserved their place in the final.
Toone's goal was a thing of beauty, as she curled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area. Russo's goal was equally impressive, as she showed great strength and determination to hold off the Australian defender and fire home.
Daly's goal was the icing on the cake for England, and it sealed their place in the final. The Lionesses will now be hoping to go one step further and win their first Women's World Cup title.
